
Salma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimmyenez, 2 September 1966)[3][4][5]) is an American and Mexican actress. Her career began in Mexico by playing a lead role in the Telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), for which she was awarded an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) are just a few of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal as painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002), which she also wrote was the first Mexican actress to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress[6In addition, she earned her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek starred in the action-packed Once Upon a Time in Mexico pictures in subsequent years and concentrated more on producing.
