Simone Biles

Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born on March 14, 1997 in Columbus Ohio U.S.A. At the 2016 Olympics at Rio de Janeiro she became the first female U.S. gymnast to win four gold medals in a single Games as well as the first gymnast to win three consecutive all-around world championships (2013-15). Biles was born in Spring Texas. Her grandparents Ronald Biles (and her sister Adria) took them in as adoptees. The Biles family grew up in the metropolitan areas of Houston. Simone was first introduced to the sport of gymnastics through her teacher at daycare Aimee Borman, when she was 6 years old. Biles stayed with Bannon's Gymnastix for eleven years. Biles won a gold in floor exercises and also a bronze in vault at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010 before breaking into the top level of competition in 2011. The following year, Biles dominated the sport. Biles's consistency, her exuberant nature and high degree of challenge during her four eventsvault uneven bars balance beam floor exercise as well as floor exercise -- set her above the others.
